Just Another Break In The Wall

This was done as a very late entry for the K/S Valentines Day Fest on Livejournal.  This piece was such a bitch to do. I’m not even joking about it. I made and scrapped four other drafts.  And, I had such artist block that it took me two days to get my shit together. I’m still not completely happy with it. I want to thanks Amanda Warrington  who gave answered all of my questions about the fest, and was so very nice and helpful.

So I wanted to get back to basics, because I’ve been having trouble with a few other of my commercial stuff.  This was pure self-indulgence, and I regret nothing. I had so much creating it, but the file itself had so many groups and sub-groups when I was done that I don’t think anyone but else could make heads or tales on it.   I will shortly be doing some prompts tomorrow for a friend, and then Monday I will be do so more commercial stuff.

So I decided to re-watch Ultraviolet and Aeon Flux, and I got this image of a female A.I. in my head that I couldn’t quite shake, and this is the result. This piece is about 80% photo manipulated, and has been the hardest piece I have made to date.  So  I’m understandably proud of it.

So as an up and coming Graphic Artist, you just can’t just sit idle on your ass all day. You must always sharpen your skills or you will surely lose them and become mediocre.  Also, I wanted to expand my skills more into photo manipulation compositions. So I found this tutorial on PSDDude.com and I was like that looked really cool and I need something as a palette cleanser after I royally messed up a big commission (more on that later) and so I did this. As you can see, I didn’t use the coloring because I found I liked it without the coloring.

When I do tutorials, I never tend to follow all the instructions (I’m like this when I’m cooking as well) and sometimes just experiment because I’m curious. This is why my version of this manip is different from the original tutorial. the coloring is different and the placement of the bubbles and the fish are different as well.

Okay, I first want to admit that this is the result of a plot generator.  The author and the corresponding blurb (I will do a dusk jacket lately) are all made and do not exist.  I just wanted to stretch my skills and challenge myself. I also wanted to do some more fantasy pieces as well. I’m kind of feel so-so of the end result, but this was more of a learning exercise than anything else.

I’ve have always been a fan of BootsnBlossoms and Kryptaria’s 00Q fics. I loved the James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ (it’s my favorite movie out of the Daniel Craig’s Bond movies), but both authors made fall in love with James Bond, Q, and Alec Trevelyan. So it goes without saying that I was overjoyed to get permission to do art for one of their stories. Now I do admit, that I was going to art for ‘Ordianry Numbers’ but it has no shortage of art for it. So, I decided to art for ‘Red Queen to Overwatch‘ instead.

I’m finally dipping into making icons. Actually the icons come from pixelbay.com and free from download here.

In response to a request from reddeathherself, I did a cover art a title cover art for the TSOIP series itself. You can the other work in this series here and here. Ghostly Path Premade 1 by i-am-JENius

Sequel to Don’t Tell Mama. You can find the not!fic here! This time I did it in green, because the focus of this story is on Bruce Banner. I took the title of this work from Caro Emerald’s song, “Dr. Wanna Do.”  The photo is of Mark Ruffalo who plays Bruce Banner in the Avengers movies.

This design was inspired by the early Burlesque posters, and some of the designs from the 1940’s, 1950’s, and 1960’s.  The model is the lovely Dita Von Teese.  This poster was made to complement  a Darcy Lewis not!fic fanfic and fanmix which of course you can read and download here.
